Senior year 2025-2026
Senior capstone project: Short Film “God save me, jpg or png?”
Logline: God Save Me, JPG or PNG? is a narrative/surreal/experimental short film about a young woman whose frozen computer resurrects a fragmented relationship, sending her through memory and dissociation as she confronts the aftermath of an abusive bond and reclaims her sense of self.
Detailed Project Description: The young female protagonist sits at her computer, clearly depressed and anxious after an abusive relationship. When a video from her past resurrects, she is pulled into her screen and her reality flips, leaving her unsure of what is real. She moves through a fragmented world of fast-paced editing, memories, and distorted moments with her abuser as timelines blur and overlap. Her reality shifts back and forth until a knocking at her door grows louder and more overwhelming. At her breaking point, she is forced to confront everything she has been avoiding. Through a cinematic and surreal lens, the film follows her emotional unraveling and journey toward reclaiming her sense of power and identity, bringing awareness to abusive relationships and the lasting aftermath of domestic violence.

Spilling the Tea: A Platform for Dating, or Defaming?
The Tea App was designed as a women-only space to promote dating safety and protect women from harmful encounters. But on college campuses, this platform has quickly evolved into something far more complicated, a mix of empowerment, exposure, and online controversy. In this short documentary, we explore how The Tea App has become a viral phenomenon where anonymous posts blur the line between safety and defamation. Featuring insights from Samira Rajabi, Ph.D., media researcher, author, and professor, who shares how anonymity can both protect and harm online communities: We also hear from Drew Wiest, a 21-year-old Boulder resident, who opens up about discovering he was named on the app, and the emotional toll that followed. This video investigates how the pursuit of safety, justice, and expression online can sometimes lead to digital harm and what that means for Gen Z’s definition of empowerment.
